Being an au pair in Spain, you will live a rewarding cultural and linguistic stay abroad. Thanks to full immersion within a host family, you will have an amazing opportunity to practice Spanish and get good conditions. In exchange for your help in taking care of the children and participating in household chores, you will get full board and lodging, and receive weekly pocket money (min. 80€).

How to become au pair in Spain?

Program conditions:
As an au pair, you will be/get:
- Full board and lodging.
- Clean single room.
- Pocket money: minimum 80 € per week.
- In charge of children and daily household chores, around 30 per week (+ 1 to 2 evenings of babysitting).
- Off-duty 1 to 2 days a week.
- On vacation for 1 week after 6 months of stay.
- Free for Spanish classes when the children are at school.
Typical Day for an Au Pair in Spain
- 7:00 am: Wake-up of the children.
- 7:15 am: Breakfast and preparing to go to school.
- 9:00 am: Light housework
- 11:00 am: Spanish classes with other au pairs
- 3:00 am: Pick up children from school.
- 3:20 pm: Homework, bath time, and make dinner for children.
- 8:00 pm: Dinner with family and free time.
When and Where to Go?
Most participants start their au pair stay in Spain in September or January and register a few months in advance. However, please note that you can leave at any time of the year for a minimum duration of 6 months (or 2 months in the summer).

Who can be au pair in Spain?
You can become an au pair in Spain if you are/have:
- 18 to 28 years old.
- EU citizen.
- Intermediate Spanish.
- If possible good level of English.
- Minimum 50 hours experience.
- Driving license and experience preferred.
- Availability of at least 6 months.

Program fees
- Online registration below:
- Program fees to be paid in 3 steps:
- Deposit of €150 before the interview, refunded in case your application will not be accepted (excluding €75 administrative fee).
- 50% of the remaining fees charged when starting the search and balanced at placement confirmation stage (please see guidelines below).
- REFUND YOUR PROGRAM AFTER THE FIRST MONTH (get full board and lodging and at least 320 € per month).
- Our programs abroad are 100% guaranteed. We only accept candidates we can place.
- Please note that additional fees will be charged for last minute registration (see conditions below).
Global budget
Here some information about additional budged needed to be au pair in Spain:
- Flight: From 300 to 1500 € on average depending on your departure.
- Insurance: from 50 € per month.
- Spanish classes: prices depend on schools.
Even if this program remains one of the most advantageous solutions to live in Spain, we recommend you start your stay with some savings and prepare your budget in advance for a better experience.
